At the foot of a hillside of Mount al-Rayhan near the village of Mlikh, ADON house is located.
The name Adon ” lord,” is derived from the name of the neighboring village Mlikh. Malik is derived from the Semitic word “MLK,” which means the king.
Adon House is a concept for a modern sustainable house in a rugged mountain-ous environment. Schema designed the house on a small cliff in the middle of a cultivable slope. The aim is to encourage the return to natural environments. The first level, on the road level, includes the entrance area. An adjoined area of corten steel contains a staircase connecting to the second level. The second level includes the kitchen, dining area, reception area, two bedrooms, and a living area. A volumetric glass connection links this area to the house. The third level includes the main bedroom and working space or an atelier de-signed for the owner.
An outside terrace flattens over the cliff, overlooking the farmland and pool. In addi-tion to the volumetric approach, Adon House was designed to reclaim the adjacent lands by constructing artificial ponds to collect rainwater and use it for irrigation.
